My Isaac, Part 22 Victoria Day & Victory

I know I could have condensed these posts into a shorter series, but there`s a method to my madness... I`m hoping by now you have some idea of what it was like living through the ups and downs and twists and turns of this process, and enduring the endless waiting! Just when we thought we were going one direction, the plan would change, forcing us to adjust to our new reality.

Not my will, but thine Lord...the ONLY way to victory!

My Isaac, Our Foster Adoption Story

From my blog...

May 24, 2010 Victoria Day & Victory

My husband told one of our boys...."It's a holiday...it's a day you work at home." I don't think that's quite what the boys had in mind, and hopefully, we'll fit some fun into the day....although there always seems to be work to do!

I thought that given the tone of my post last week, concerning Princess D, I should make a short update.....I had said, "I'll be okay."  And surprisingly, I am. I can't even explain it. We got our official letter on Friday, outlining the new plan....and no, I didn't spit at anyone. The short version of the plan is....adoption is NOT the plan....reunification with her Mom is. It took me a day to go through a variety of different emotions and reactions, and then on Saturday, I was walking down the road looking for my husband's glasses (that's another story for another day) and I don't really remember what I was thinking or praying.....but all of a sudden, I felt 'okay.'

Then on Sunday, D's mom called, and I was able to let her know that we support her and will do all that we can to help her get D back, that all we have ever wanted was what's best for D....and if she can make the necessary changes to her life, that really is what's best. I told her we'd like to be D's grandparents and she said she'd like that.

So....we're going in a different direction than planned, and I really hope it doesn't take a year to get to the final destination, but we'll take it one day at a time, put one foot in front of the other....and trust the Lord to take us through.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
