Promises From Psalms; Psalm 27:14

Wait, I say, on the Lord.

In the trials of my life, you call me to a quiet place.

Psalm 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

Are you going through a difficult time or experiencing anxiety?

The Psalms are such a book of comfort. David experienced many trials and difficulties in his life, and many of the Psalms were written by him during these times. When we're facing our own troubles and heartache we can look to these words written by David for the very best advice...Wait on the Lord.

In this day when every disaster, every storm and every terrible occurrence is so readily available through the news, and social media, so many people are filled with fear and anxiety, David has the answer... Be of courage, and he shall shall strengthen thine heart:

When we think we can't go on and can see no way ahead, God always provides a way...Wait, I say, on the Lord.

Last week, I added a song to my post. I decided I like the idea of trying to find a song for each post. At the beginning of this year, when I wrote 5 Specific Ways to Focus On Time In God's Word, I spoke about adding more music to my Bible time, and this is an excellent way to do that.

This song is about waiting on the Lord.

I Wait Upon You, Lord

©2003 Deborah Bolack   Recorded by Honour & Glory

When I see the storm approaching, I take a heavenward flight.
You bear me up on eagles wings, high above the cloudy night.
And from your lofty view, I can see bright rays of light.
As you lift me soaring higher, you give strength to win this fight.

In the trials of my life, you call me to a quiet place.
I draw near to hear your voice and find strength in your embrace.

I wait upon you Lord; in silence I come to you.
I wait upon you Lord; my heart draws near to you.
I wait upon you Lord; I whisper a prayer to you.
I wait upon you Lord; my strength is renewed in you.

When the way ahead has darkened, I run to seek your face.
You reach out and take my hand; holding tight, I run my race.

And with you leading on, I can follow in your ways,
for you give my life direction, and strength to sing your praise.

When my path is long and winding, I walk the way you have shown.
You pull me closer to your side, and you say, “You’re not alone.”

And held up by your arms, I can make it down this road.
As you lighten every footstep, you give strength to bear my load.

My strength is renewed in you.
