A Mother's Love, Steadfast and Sure

A mother’s love is steadfast and sure, and come what may, it will endure.

trusting God to work out His will and His way in their lives.

The time we have with our children is so fleeting and sometimes we mothers wish we could turn back the clock and perhaps take better advantage of every passing minute. But as much as we would like to keep our children under our protective wings, we understand the necessity of letting go and trusting God to work out His will and His way in their lives.

A Mother's Love

A mother’s heartbeat soothes her babe.
Cuddling him close, she sings and prays.
She gently strokes his feverish brow;
responding to cries, no matter what hour.

A mother’s kiss makes everything better
but she adds a bandage just for good measure.
And then she sends him off to play,
proclaiming what a brave boy he is today.

A mother’s love is strong and fierce;
protecting her child and calming his fears.
She’ll shelter him from hurt and harm,
yet give him room to explore and learn.

A mother guides with a careful hand
knowing he must learn on his own to stand
And as he grows, she cheers him on,
glowing with pride through each milestone.

A mother longs to lead the way
to Jesus' love and saving grace.
She shares her faith at every turn,
and prays he’ll learn to search and discern.

A mother knows he’ll make mistakes;
that some things are learned through trials and pain.
And if he should wander away for a time,
she’ll always be there with arms open wide.

A mother’s love is steadfast and sure,
and come what may, it will endure.
It’s a rock on which her child can stand,
but when he falls it’s a soft place to land.

Rejoicing in hope;
patient in tribulation;
continuing instant in prayer.
