Brian's Jalapeno Poppers

Although we've enjoyed Jalapeno Poppers before, we had never made them. So, Brian decided it was time to give them a try. I don't think there's a simpler  food to prepare! They require three items: 18 jalapeno peppers, 1 package cream cheese, and 1 package bacon. Some people add cheddar cheese too; they are delicious either way.

Slice the peppers lengthwise, and clean them out.

Fill the peppers with cream cheese.

Wrap a 1/2 slice of bacon around each pepper
I can't take credit for these. Brian did it all!

Place on a baking sheet covered in tin foil, for easy clean up

Bake at 350-400 for about 15 minutes...depending on how crispy you like the bacon.

Let them cool, and enjoy!

Even Danica liked them!

The Brandon Farmer's Market

Produce

Years ago, we used to come to the Brandon Farmer's Market with my parents. Besides veggies, they sold dozens of bouquets of glads. People would get to the farmers market early to make sure they didn't miss getting their bouquet!

I couldn't resist...I had to share one of Dad's glads from years ago!

Now, on to the Farmer's Market.

There was everything from garden produce....

To baking, jams, jellies, and pickles....

To giftware and crafts...

To soap.....

Danica loves her lilac scented soap from Kiss My Bath!

To plants....

And what I came to pick up......

Delicious grapes!

Besides all of this, there was entertainment by the

I hope you enjoyed this short tour of the Brandon Farmer's Market. You can check it out for yourself every Saturday morning in the parkade at the Town Center.

Manitoba Sky Monday- September 5/16

We didn't have as many good 'sky days' this past week, but the sunset on Thursday, and the sunrise on Friday made up for it.

This was the view from our deck on Thursday evening, as the sun began to set.

I looked away for a bit to take a phone call, then noticed this,
 and Brian started taking pictures.

And it just kept getting better.

And then this!

And then it was gone....

Until Friday morning brought this lovely sunrise.

And that's all for this week.
